Edible dioramas

The 6th-graders all did edible dioramas of World War I scenes. Rivers, rocks (candy) and well, blood (jam). Researching them reminded me of how brutal war can be. One battle lost almost as many men in 4 days as the entire time we've been in Iraq and almost none of them were even recognizable. Again, just brutal.
