Such a slacker

Not really - just working in another area. I created a political blog at the beginning of the legislative session. My first post was 4 weeks ago today and I have made a total of 63 posts. Crazy. I got picked up by a couple of sites that link to political blogs and am getting over 100 hits a day right now. That doesn't make me a "big" blog, but I am definitely on the radar. Basically what I am doing with it is a summary of what is going on in Utah's legislature - bills being debated, humor, talk at caucus meetings - that kind of stuff.

Anyway, here's a run-down:

Starfish Daddy: still working and enjoying it
our blacksmith: going to school, not working, likes to hibernate in his room. I think he should get out more
Mikey: only one more week in the MTC and then off to Africa
Neener: 5 1/2 months pregnant, living at home and nannying for me while I'm at the Capitol
Ashay: trying out for track this week. The coach expects him to set a new state record during his track "career".
Joshie: doing great
Hal: not so great - flunking math and English mostly because he just doesn't turn in assinments. Of course, tanking on a couple of tests didn't help either.
Kadee: 2 months away from being a teenager - what can I say?
Romie: OK. He's in 6th grade and had an 8th grader want to show him porn on the cell phone. . . . it didn't happen, but still . . .
Nonee: wildly popular, almost straight A's. SHe is really funny, too
Beti: doing fine
Carrot-top: likewise fine
Tommy: working hard on his reading and trying to remember not to chatter so much in class.
Becca: good
Ammie: good
Luisa: has had a hard time with school lately - not with doing the work, with actually going. Morning melt-downs screaming "I hate school". Haven't yet discovered what lies behind that. . .
Taiza: great - turning 5 in just 6 weeks and is excited for kindergarten in the fall
Baby Angel: good, but she's sick with a bad cold right now and is pretty miserable.

African "babies". Two of them are turning 2 this month (the other one turned 2 in January). Have heard through our Congressman's office that they have made a decision that they will be running by their legal counsel. that tells me they are going to deny and are hoping they have a reason that will "stand up" on appeal. Fine. Just deny and get it over with so we can appeal and get the case out of their office. It has now been 9 1/2 months since we applied.

We've also had quite a bit of illness this winter - even I got sick, which rarely happens. Colds and flu. Yuck.

The weather is feeling spring-like right now and it's lovely.

I'm sleeping 4 or 5 hours a night and looking forward to the 3rd week in March when I can sleep as much as I want. :)

Oh, and our chickens have started laying again (they don't lay during the winter months). The last 3 or 4 days we've gotten about 18 a day. :)

Now you're updated. I'll get pics posted as I can.

Wow, busy lady! I'm amazed at all you and your family get done. :-) Keep up the great work on the political blog. Don't feel like you're slacking - you are doing great work on The Hill. I've learned a lot when I've read your posts there.
