Another update

I am SOO tired - the baby (now 19 months) is having a bad stretch of not sleeping. But anyway. . .
With the information I received from our Congressman's office yesterday, of course I fired off an email to my friend and contact overseas. She sent me one short email that said "Hang on - I have heard something - I'll get back to you". I was worried it was bad, but it was GOOD!
About 1:30 am our time she emailed me back and said that the Embassy has already been asking questions. They were told in no uncertain terms that the country in question has NO PROBLEMS with me or with our adoptions and that if any problems exist, it was between us and the US government. Even better, the person they talked to told them that if they (the US) thought there was a problem with us, they should not have approved us in the first place, rather than approve us, then try to pull those approvals. She emphasized again that there was NO PROBLEM on their side.
The battle could still be far from over, but for the first time in MANY months, we have seen movement in the right direction and *I* have hope. I don't want to - it's too early - but I do have hope that we might be getting to the end. Starfish Daddy did remark that if Chris Cannon had done his job 2 years ago, we would have/could have had the same kind of response and it could have resolved then. He didn't. I can't go back and change things, but I can celebrate that at least for today, we have some positive news. Yippee!!
